| I
am certainly not the first one to attempt making ball and socket armature
joints at home, and I won't be the last either. However, because my method
is fairly simple and can be achieved using inexpensive tools, I'm hoping
it's worth adding to the collective. Not everyone can afford a proper milling
machine, after all.
With a handful of tools that you may already have, you could be on your way to building your own puppet armatures. The joints that I make work surprisingly well, but I can't guarantee that you will share the same success with your joints. If you are careful and have some craftsman instinct, there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to construct good joints. If nothing else, it's fun to see another method explored, right?
