Drill the Pilot Hole for the Screw

Hold the two strips in the jig. Using a 5/64 drill bit, drill through the center hole with the drill press. Do it slowly, and watch where the bit begins to cut. It can wander considerably off the mark, but it is easy to adjust the jig to get a nice center cut.
